Anyone can get lupus, but it is much more common in women, more-so those of childbearing age. It is also more common in people of African, Hispanic, and Asian descent. The exact reason why some people develop it is unclear.
Sex, age and race played a big role.
Genetics, hormones and environmental factors definitely played a role.
